Bryn Griffiths took 10 Class E wins and set eight new lap records at the ten circuits visited.

In 2002 Bryn Griffiths took 11 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third place out of 14 races entered in a season of complete reliability for his Alfa Romeo 156. He finished 2nd overall in the championship. Bryn notched up his 21st class win on his way to his second Class E title!
In 2001 John Griffiths also ran an ex-Dutch Challenge 156 car straight out of the one make 156 Challenge in Holland. After some astonishing starts in the reverse grid Auto-Italia series, the car did not prove as reliable as the Class E racer with John being a victim of bad luck after getting himself into good positions. Having been in possession of the car over the off season - he has now eradicated the problems and has secured the Class D (Production 2Litre) title along with 3rd place overall. in 2002.
In April 2005 Monza Sports Tuning bought the freehold to their current site in Ashington and soon after became Service and Parts dealers for Alfa Romeo.
Heavy investment in the premises has followed with a complete refurbishment of the workshop premises which involved the fitting of Three top of the range Rotary lifts, and new epoxy resin flooring. This coupled with the investment required by Alfa Romeo in the latest up-to-date diagnostic equipment and special tools to service and repair the whole range of Alfa Romeos meant that any racing activities have had to take a back seat.
In 2007 the showroom at Monza Sports Tuning was also completely refurbished. This now incorporates the reception and waiting area for our customers who can now enjoy free wireless or cabled internet access along with a selection of different hot and cold drinks and snacks.
Monza has added services continously to enable us to better serve our customers needs. Now offering tyre supply and fitting at very competetive prices on site, along with a four wheel alignment service and air-conditioning re-gas facilities.
Finally late in August 2010, Monza Sports Tuning was approved as a VOSA MOT station which means we can now carry-out our customers Mots on site.
HOWEVER, still lurking in the showroom sits an Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 Racer factory-built in 1999 as a Group N car but then updated to Super Production specification to run in the Italian Super Production Series. It boasts a Novamotore engine (the company who used to build Ayrton Senna's formula 3 engines) producing 225 bhp and a whole host of other modifications to upgrade it from Group N spec. It's itching to get out!
