Inspired by the Alfa Mito GTA concept car previewed a Geneva 2009, Monza Sports Tuning have produced a special MiTo for the Alfisti MiTo owners who can wait no longer.
Monza Sports Tuning have built the MiTo Carbonio by taking the already highly specified Alfa MiTo Cloverleaf with the 1.4TB MultiAir 170BHP (awarded Best New Engine of the Year 2010) as it's starting point.
The MiTo GTA concept itself was heavily inspired by Carbon Fibre and MiTo fans have been crying out for Alfa Romeo to build the MiTo GTA.
A wider front spoiler trimmed with Carbon fibre where once there was chrome is fitted to the front giving a much more purposeful look and this is continued through the side skirts finished in Carbon Black.
The Carbon Fibre headlights surrounds complement this effect front and back.
The rear is transformed by a rear diffuser with a central exhaust twin exit to accentuate the sporting credentials of the Carbonio and the rear lights are trimmed with carbon fibre.
The carbon fibre rear spoiler completes the Carbonio's look of racing intent.
Under the bonnet a new Carbon Fibre air intake added to an induction kit aids the intake of the mighty little Alfa.
The Multi-Air is re-mapped by Monza Sports Tuning to give an increased BHP output of around 215BHP in Dynamic mode. This is discernable visually by the addition of a Monza Sports Tuning Carbon Fibre engine cover and a silicon intake hose indicating the available BHP.
The Carbonio benefits from 18" Alloys; Spacers have been used to widen the track rather than even larger Alloys as this car is to be driven on UK roads as well as the track.
"Alfa Active Suspension", a system that actively and continuously controls the electronic shock absorbers is in our view an effective and versatile system for road and track day driving and so the shock absorbers are retained along with the Active Suspension in the Dynamic mode of Alfa Romeo's DNA system.
Conversion kits will be available shortly for all Alfa Romeo MiTo Veloce variants including the earlier 120BHP and 155BHP Veloce models and of course the new Alfa Romeo MiTo Qradrafoglio Verde.
